Very rarely in our lives, when we become very still from the inside do we see the beauty and charm of nature in its pristine form. Sometimes nature show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our own minds. The mountains, trees, rocks and wind and anything that has come into existence without human intervention brings our attention to the present moment and make us feel our aliveness, our animating presence within the body. The noisy mind subsides and a deeper dimension opens up.
I experienced all of that during my journey to an amazingly beautiful and quiet place called Lansdowne in Uttarakhand, India.
There, amid the mountains of Lansdowne, I knew bliss. I have never before felt more rejuvenated and peaceful. Words like moved, spellbound, awestruck are too small to describe any bit of my experience.
There, sitting on the rocks amid the mountains with the wind flowing past my face, I wrote these lines-
The Rock is moist, and the clouds twist,
The soul does no movement, perhaps it reached,
Where it need be.
The howling wind’s fierce but,
How does it even get to peace?
The circle of Karma is still incomplete,
Before the tree, you sow a seed,
Before the bonefire, the woods need be lit.
So be here, be one with every being,
Don’t Resist.
